Write to Be
Invitations for Identity, Growth, Emotion, and Voice
Writing doesn't always have to begin with an answer. Sometimes, it begins with an invitation.
Write to Be is a collection of 180 thoughtfully created writing invitations designed to help young people explore who they are, what they feel, how they see the world, and who they are becoming.
Rooted in Social Emotional Intelligence, these prompts invite young people to move beyond surface-level responses and explore themes of identity, self-awareness, emotion, relationships, belonging, values, perspective, growth, and personal voice.
Designed to be flexible, Write to Be can be used in classrooms, homeschool settings, youth programs, or simply at home. Use the invitations as journal prompts, family conversation starters, community-building exercises, morning reflections, advisory activities, or quiet moments for individual thought.
There is no single “right” way to respond. Young people can write, reflect, discuss, draw, question, or simply sit with an idea.
